Toribiong said that Palau has loss its voting rights after nonpayment of dues which amount to over $100,000.
According to Article 19 of the U.N. Charter states that a member shall lose its right to vote in the U.N. General Assembly if the amount of its arrears equals or exceeds the amount of its assessed contributions for the preceding two years.“Palau has not paid our dues, we lost our right to vote,” Toribiong said.Toribiong said that Palau will pay its dues to restore its voting rights.
