FSM to execute its largest contract ever

The contract, worth nearly $25.9 million, is slated to provide a new concrete road on Weno Island in Chuuk, and provide for new water and sewer lines as well.

Only a single bid from Pacific International Inc.  of Majuro, Marshall Islands, was received in response to the solicitation, even though the project had been advertised for 90 days.

The PMU evaluation committee determined that PII was a responsible bidder for this project and that their bid was fully responsive to the solicitation.

As a result, the U.S. Office of Insular Affairs authorized funding for the award of the contract.
