CHCC: 0 hospitalizations, 10 new Covid-19 cases

(Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation) — As of May 16, 2022, there were 0 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19.

From May 9 to 15, 2022, there were 0 new hospitalizations.

But 10  additional individuals have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 11,315 cases since March 28, 2020.

Of the 10 cases:

2 on May 10, 2022

2 on May 12, 2022

1 on May 15, 2022

Individuals who test positive for Covid-19 should stay home and isolate when they are sick (except to get medical care), even if they do not have symptoms. They should rest and stay hydrated. They may also  take over-the-counter medicines, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, to relieve symptoms.

Report your Covid-19 positive test result online at www.staysafecnmi.com/self-reporting within five days of your positive test result for a copy of your quarantine completion certificate.

Data show that vaccine effectiveness against Covid-19 infection wanes after the primary series, but protection remains high against severe disease and hospitalization.

As of May 17, 2022, a total of 23,197 Covid-19 additional/booster vaccine shots had been administered. Of the eligible population, 62.2% have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-year-olds and older population.

A total of 1,231 Covid-19 tests were conducted on May 9 to 15, 2022:

383 on May 9, 2022

124 on May 10, 2022

22 on May 11, 2022

377 on May 12, 2022

273 on May 13, 2022

42 on May 14, 2022

10 on May 15, 2022
