Sato, during the meeting, had courteously ordered all residents of the hamlet to volunteer to do the renovation and the cleaning of the bai.
According to Abraham Osima, President of Ollei Seineng (the hamlet’s youth organization) Sato had ordered that renovation work on Bai Derbei and landscaping of its vicinity begin on Saturday, February 21 at 7:00 a.m. and would proceed until all work is completed. Further, every able resident of the hamlet is urged and expected to be at Bai Derbei on said date and time. In addition, each resident is expected to bring his or her work tools.“Sato had urged all present during the meeting to inform and extend invitations to everyone who originates from the hamlet to find a way to contribute or participate in Saturday’s work,” Osima said.According to Osima, the work on Bai Derbei this Saturday would serve not only to enhance the appearance of the site, but also a way through which the people of the hamlet can come together to revive “the spirit which has traditionally kept the people of Ollei together.”“Everyone, it seems, is so busy with individual obligations,” Osima said, “that our sense of community is disintegrating. I think the work as ordered by our chief will allow us to rebuild and reestablish the links that has allowed us to survive this far as a group.”
