Joshua Santos, 20; Jocelyn M. Camacho, 33; Leuevalyne Mafnas, 21; and Carlene Muna, 25, all residents of Koblerville, appeared for their arraignment before Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja.
Chief Prosecutor Kevin A. Lynch represented the government while Assistant Public Defender Douglas Hartig appeared on behalf of the defendants.
The four defendants will appear for the next court hearing on March 5, 2009.
On Jan. 14, 2009, Associate Judge Perry B. Inos ordered Santos and Mafnas to post $6,000 bail each for their temporary liberty, 10 percent or $600 of which must be in cash and the remaining amount in unsecured or appearance bond.
Camacho and Muna were ordered to post $1,000 each, 50 percent or $500 in cash and the other $500 in unsecured bond.
Police arrested the four defendants after the Department of Public Safety received a theft and burglary report that happned Alof Avenue, Dandan at 12:23 p.m. on Jan. 12.
The victim said she saw Santos carrying off her luggage from her garage.
The victim said she chased Santos between the houses and across the street into the bushes.
When the victim went back to her house, she saw a woman later identified as Mafnas sitting inside a Toyota Camry.
Mafnas denied she was with Santos.
The victim also found two other women identified as Camacho and Muna hiding behind the trees at the back of her house. The victim’s things were in total disarray and some of her personal belongings were missing.
The defendants were arrested at 1:30 p.m. on the same day near Hawaiian Rock in Koblerville.
The victim identified the defendants when they were brought to her.
