In a letter to President Toribiong, he said that his new administration requests that the fund be utilized to renovate the existing multi-purpose sport facility owned by all the youths of Peleliu.
The grant was in the amount of $150,000 which was deposited to Peleliu Ngarablod of Koror to supposedly be administered by its President Haruo Esang. However the national government is trying to get the money back from Ngarablod.“As newly-elected by the majority of the people of Peleliu State in the recently held special election to serve the remainder of the terms of former Gov. Jackson Ngiraingas , it is my position that the above fund should be returned by the Peleliu Ngarablod Organization to the National Treasury or recovered by the National Government and be administered through the proper legal process,” Uchau said.Uchau said he wants to utilize the money to renovate the multi-purpose facility owned by all the youths of Peleliu including the Peleliu Elementary School students instead of using the fund to construct another multi-purpose basketball facility inside the school ground of Peleliu Elementary School.”He added that the elementary school ground should remain open as if for the students to use for other sports field events including the existing softball field which is being utilized by the youth of Peleliu.
