(Press Release) — The Tan Siu Lin Foundation continues to support the Saipan Chamber of Commerce’s scholarship program, as it has signed up as gold sponsor for the SSC Annual Golf Tournament.
Tan Siu Lin Foundation executive director Merlie Tolentino presented Monday a check for $2,500 to SCC officials, led by their president Joe Guerrero, for the golf tournament that will be held this Saturday on the west course of the Laolao Bay Golf & Resort. Part of the proceeds from the competition will be used for the chamber’s scholarship program, which was established to help local students seeking higher education.
“We support Saipan Chamber of Commerce in its efforts to provide local students opportunities to further their education, which plays a vital role in developing one’s knowledge, skills, and values, and helping shape a person’s future,” said Tolentino.
For his part, Guerrero thanked TanHoldings and the Tan Siu Lin Foundation for the continued partnership and acknowledged the company’s support not just to the chamber but the rest of the NMI community and its various sectors.
“For the past 50 years, Tan Holdings has been an integral member of our community. Their longstanding support for education and the Saipan Chamber of Commerce scholarship program is displayed once again by TSL Foundation’s generous donation of $2,500 towards this year’s Saipan Chamber Golf Tournament fundraiser,” Guerrero said.
This Saturday’s competition will have a two-person scramble format and will award cash prizes in two categories: Team Gross and Team Double Peoria. First placers will win $800, while the second and third finishers take $650 and $500, respectively. Hole-in-one and raffle prizes are also at stake in the SCC’s event.
