The Gorilla is back!

The Gorilla Warfare Productions that started bringing Saipan and its cage fighters last year to the attention of international mixed martial arts is setting up the ring once again for more exciting fights.

Sponsored by Bud Light Beer and IT&E, the group that brought Saipan MMA fans the Predator or Prey last year now presents the Battle Ready on March 28, at the Royal Taga Hall in World Resort.

One famous fighter from the U.S., is now very excited about the event, an indication that makes the organizers believe Saipan MMA is now getting into a long and fruitful relationship with other fighters and MMA organizations in the states.

The Gorilla Warfare, according to organizers, Jeff Boyer, Mark Sablan and Pete Sablan aims to give more exposures to Saipan fighters and the island itself, from the tourist standpoint.

All they want to show, Boyer said is that all fighters can compete with the best help on the island.

“We need to bring out the fighters in to test their skills,” he said.

So, reaching out to all MMA camps on the island is important to keep the growing sport move ahead.

“We have a lot of new guys entering the ring, as we find a bunch of other individuals from different camps,” Boyer said, adding that this time they want to make sure the Battle Ready will have fighters from all training camps on Saipan.

Battle Ready is going to be an exciting event because sports fans will see new faces in the ring along with tough fighters from off-island.

There will be 12 fights this time including a match between Kelvin Fitial and the guest fighter the organizers do not want to reveal the name yet.

Charleston Aiken who defeated Fitial last year will fight Mike Davis aka the Wild Man.

Again, Boyer reiterates that in Battle Ready, the Gorilla Warfare will to show to the international MMA fans that Saipan fighters are rising up quickly.

Bobby Gamboa and Alfred Hernandez who were very instrumental to the success of last year’s Predator or Prey continue to support the Gorilla Warfare.
