Juan Guerrero to announce running mate today

Camacho’s family gathered at Paupau Beach on Sunday to discuss Guerrero’s offer which was made three weeks ago, Variety was told.

Camacho’s family members gave him their “blessings,” Variety learned.

This morning, Guerrero will hold a press conference at his campaign headquarters, the former Tan Marikita Café in Garapan, across from Winchell’s.

A Democrat, Guerrero was a member of the House of Representatives from 1984 and 1986, and a senator from 1986 to 1990.

This time he will run as an Independent candidate and his campaign manager is former Rep. Clyde K. Norita,  Camacho’s brother.

Guerrero is a past president of the Saipan Chamber of Commerce and is the current chairman of the Retirement Fund board of trustees.

Camacho, a former police officer and educator, before becoming a lawyer, is a freshman member of the House where he represents Saipan’s Precinct 4.
