In an interview, Deleon Guerrero said “hundreds of supporters” have been attending his gatherings and their number “is growing.”
He said his campaign committee is just waiting for the right time to announce his running mate.
Deleon Guerrero said so far, no one has asked him to back out.
“And I will never give them a chance to tell me to withdraw,” he added.
He believes that the other candidates will face difficulties in the next few months.
He said his choice for running mate depends on how things will turn out with the camps of his rivals. He did not elaborate.
Besides Gov. Benigno R. Fitial, who is seeking re-election, former Sen. Juan T. Guerrero, former Gov. Juan N. Babauta and Rep. Heinz S. Hofschneider are the other gubernatorial candidates.
In Junel, the Republican Party will hold a primary between Babauta and Hofschneider.
