With Julian Camacho and Joey Dela Cruz hitting two homers each when they walloped Department of Lands and Natural Resources two weeks ago, DCCA continued to rule the Budweiser with 18 wins and no loss.
Pitcher Mel Sakisat did not hit the top of the pitching leaders’ list but delivered a lot in batting helping DCCA scatter runs in as many as nine innings.
During the last game he hit a three-run home run to help DCCA scored seven runs in the first inning and four in the second inning as they routed DLNR, 16-6.
Beach Boys snatched the second place from Docomo when Customs failed to complete its line up in the forfeited game last week, enjoying their 15th win against three losses.
Docomo placed third with 15 wins and 4 losses.
Freedom Air who is presently in the fourth place still have the chance to bounce back once good weather permits the games next week.
League statistician, Liz Palacios said the top 10 teams will meet in the playoffs that will come immediately after the three remaining games of the regular season.
Also making it to the top 10 are No Zone, (13-5); Joeten Motor Jets, (13-5); Commonwealth Ports Authority, (12-4); Legislature, (11-7); Pacific Oriental Inc., (9-8) and Procurement & Supply (8-8).
Meanwhile, three straight scheduled games rained out last week are actually working favorably for the top 10 teams of the league.
Palacios said the three remaining games for the regular season were cancelled last week due to heavy rains.
The games, she said were rescheduled to next before they can move towards playoff where the top 10 teams in men’s division and top four in ladies’ division will meet.
These teams, she said are currently flexing their muscles in preparation for the semi final games that will determine who will compete for this year’s Budweiser crown.
