Manglona sentences man to one-day jail term for criminal mischief

Manglona also placed 20-year-old Charles Misaro of Koblerville on one year probation under the supervision of the Office of Adult Probation. He will pay a fine of $100 within six months and a $25 court assessment fee within 30 days.

He will write a letter of apology to the owner of the Toyota Corolla he damaged. Misaro will pay $370.08 in restitution.

He will perform 50 hours community work within six months and not consume alcoholic beverages during his probation.

He will participate in counseling as recommended by the Office of Adult Probation, and obey all CNMI and federal laws.

Misaro will return to court for a review hearing on June 24 at 1:30 p.m.

Failure to comply with the conditions set by the court constitutes a violation of the suspended terms and will subject the defendant to revocation proceedings.

Misaro’s lawyer was Assistant Public Defender Richard C. Miller, while chief prosecutor Kevin A. Lynch represented the commonwealth.

During the hearing on Feb. 25, Misaro entered a guilty plea to one count of criminal mischief.

The AGO said Misaro intentionally damaged a car belonging to Edward Muna on Jan. 31, 2008.
