ANA Pacific Region offers free training

THE Administration for Native Americans’ Pacific Region Training and Technical Assistance Center recently announced that it has opened registration for a free, three-day workshop designed to help participants prepare strong project proposals for a variety of federal and non-federal funders.

The training workshops will take place from Sept. 3 to 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Marianas Beach Resort.

According to a release, the workshop is intended for “emerging or small-capacity Native-led, Native-serving organizations,” as well as territorial agencies.

Participants will learn how to develop community-led projects that address community needs, advance long-term community goals, and overcome common programmatic activity challenges. The training emphasizes “creating clear objectives and actionable steps that lead to meaningful, measurable outcomes for Native communities.”

The opportunity is open only to eligible public and non-profit organizations that serve Native Hawaiian, Samoan, Chamorro, Carolinian, Native American, or Alaska Native peoples; Native-led colleges and universities in the Pacific territories; and territorial government agencies and have a board of directors that is at least 51% Native-led.
