(Commonwealth Utilities Corp.) — There will be multiple scheduled water service interruptions between April 21 and 30, 2022 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for customers in China Town, Sugar King Estate, upper MIHA, and As Falape areas.
The scheduled water service interruptions are needed in order for CUC’s contractor to abandon the old asbestos concrete pipes and reconnect customers to the newly installed water main.
About the project
The Chinatown waterline replacement project will provide a more reliable water system to the people of the CNMI. It is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The newly installed distribution line will be commissioned after passing the required testing and disinfection procedures. Please expect water disruptions during the transition phase from the old water system to the newly installed PVC waterline.
CUC continues to work diligently to minimize any inconvenience to its customers. For more information, contact the CUC Hotline (236-4333) or monitor its Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/CommonwealthUtilitiesCorporation/).
