BPM Films Inc. wants Taman to sing the song island-style.
Taman said the Hillblom movie will be among the entries to the upcoming film festival in New York and is now in editing stage.
He said it was Curt Klemstein who submitted a recording of Taman to the film’s producer.
A few days ago, the producer expressed interest in the former lawmaker’s island-style version of the song.
Taman said he feels honored to take part in a movie about the life of one the region’s most famous businessmen.
He said his dream of bringing his talent to the global music arena and give pride to the CNMI people is beginning to become a reality.
“It’s fantastic,” he said adding that after all these years, his passion for music is finally being recognized abroad.
Hillblom, born in 1943, was co-founder of DHL Worldwide Express, a shipping company.
In the 1980s, he moved to Saipan, where he served as a special judge and started several businesses and development projects in Hawaii, Vietnam and the Philippines.
Hillblom’s seaplane crashed on May 21, 1995, on a flight from Pagan to Saipan.
