When CUC Executive Director Antonio Muna asked him if he was interested, Connor said he accepted it because “I like to work with him and I welcomed the opportunity.”
Connor said he will be working on the federal consent decree issues requiring CUC to comply with federal environmental and safety standards.
He will also deal with CUC’s employment and collection issues, about which he is familiar with the work because as an assistant AG, he represented CUC, the Commonwealth Health Center and other government agencies.
CUC water and wastewater deputy director Bruce Megarr, who is the agency’s acting executive director, said they need Connor’s expertise.
“I think it’s always a positive thing when you can have an attorney guide you with current laws and regulations, especially now that CUC is under [federal] scrutiny,” Megarr said.
Connor said he has two-year contract with CUC and will be receiving $62,000 a year.
