SOUTHERN United and Paire football clubs are sharing the top spot in the U13 girls division of the TakeCare Youth Soccer League after earning their fifth wins against their respective opponents Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center.
Against MP United, Southern United’s Selena Atalig and Briannie Echalico led their team to a convincing 8-0 victory.
In the first 10 minutes of the opening half, Echalico sank three consecutive goals while Atalig chipped in her first make of the day to give Southern United a 4-0 lead.
MPU did not have time to find an answer as they were busy defending their turf from Southern United’s never-ending onslaught.
In the second half, Southern United’s Atalig seized the spotlight by scoring two more goals for a hat-trick of her own.
Team mate Echalico then returned to the stage with a goal at the 26th minute mark followed by Atalig’s fourth goal of the day as Southern United shut down MPU, 8-0.

PFC’s players were handed their fifth win of the season by the Tan Holdings Football Club 2 via forfeit.
For their part, Tan Holdings Football Club 1 defeated Matansa Football Club, 6-2.
Early in the first half, THFC 1’s Shaina Malonzo delivered a goal but she also scored an own goal six minutes later for a 1-1 tie.
However, THFC 1 made sure they did not repeat the same mistake by going for an all-out offensive that allowed Kay Costales to score. This was followed by Matansa’s own goal which gave THFC 1 a 3-1 lead.
At the start of the second half, Matansa’s Alyssa Borlongan scored, but THFC 1 replied with three goals: Malonzo at the 27th and 29th minute marks while Costales squeezed in another goal to secure the win for THFC 1, 6-2.
Kanoa Football Club 1 joined the celebration by slipping past their sister-team, KNFC 2, 2-1.
KNFC 1’s Lina Tsukagoshi and Aubrey White scored their team’s goals while KNFC 2’s Alejandra Manabat was her team’s solo producer.
