The discussion delved on how to lessen the growing number of diseases.The discussion also touched the sensitive issue of sexual abuse against children.The conference said that the public should be more vigilant against sexual offenders and that the matter should not be ignored by parents especially abuses perpetrated by relatives against children.Another issue discussed during the conference was to consider a ban on the conduct of gay pageants.The women’s conference said that since the Constitution bans gay marriages, corporation or entities should not sponsor such kind of pageants.Another issue that came up was how the government can help homeless people.It also suggested that the public should support programs banning the use of tobacco.This could be made possible to the help of the media.The conference also emphasized on education that Palauan students should come back to Palau and serve the country.It said that in order to prevent brain drain, the salaries offered should be good enough to entice Palauans to return to Palau and work.
