Immigration officer attends training in the Philippines

Jenkins Mariur left Palau this week to participate the Bali Process Workshop in the Philippines.

The training was sponsored by Australia.Joseph M. Giramur, Director of the Bureau of Immigration said that more training is coming up this year for law enforcement officers of Palau.Giramur also thanked Australia and New Zealand for funding assistance and for making these trainings possible for all Palau law enforcement officers.Giramur added he was also able to get funds for additional participants who need to attend training in New Zealand.Giramur said they also sent Detective Prince Idelkei of Criminal Investigation Section and Odelaffi Sato of the Bureau of Customs to New Zealand to participate in the Intelligence Information Gathering report training.Idelkei, Ngiratrang and Sato left last week for New Zealand.Bureau of Public Safety Director Norvert Yano and Lt. Aloysius Alonz of CIS are also off-island.Yano left Palau Saturday last week to participate in the Asian Chief of Police Conference while Alonz left for Australia to attend the International Crime Cooperation Workshop in Brisbane, Australia.Yano and Alonz are expected to return next week.
