Patrol Division Chief Ismael Aguon said two men were assaulted in Ngesaol and in Ngerchemai on April 8.
The victims called police and reported the separate incidents at 3:50 p.m. and at 7:44 p.m.Both incidents are still under investigation.Other assault and battery incidents were reported to the police from Monday to Thursday.A man said he was struck with a baseball bat in the parking lot of SLC in Malakal last month, but he reported the incident only on April 6 at 6:30 p.m.The next day, a woman walked into the police station and reported that she was assaulted at the Bem Ermii in Medalaii by a man.The other incidents reported to the police involved a man who said he was punched in the face in Idid; a woman assaulted physically and verbally by a man; a woman slapped in the face by a man in Ngermid; and a woman assaulted with a can of beer in Ngerbeched.In other news, Junior Theodore, 45, Lim Sang, 48, and Celestine Aderiano, 46, were arrested for assault and battery and disturbing the peace in separate incidents.Theodore was arrested for assaulting a person in Ngerchemai on April 7 while Sang and Aderiano were arrested for causing disturbances at residences in Meyuns and Ikelau.In other separate incidents: • A juvenile was caught shoplifting at the Ben Franklin store on April 6. The juvenile tried to steal soda drinks.• The window of the Happy Fish market in Malakal cracked when someone threw a rock at it.• A motorist was injured when the vehicle ran off the roadway early Thursday morning by Melekeok and Ngechsar. The driver sustained lip injury and was brought to the hospital for treatment. Police said the passenger was not hurt.
