The Covenant Party is still making its selections, he said in an interview.
“I am not part of the candidates committee so I cannot make any endorsement at this time,” he added.
Interested candidates have until April 30 to submit their letter of intent to the Covenant Party.
“After that date, we will know who they are,” Fitial said.
So far, he added, his party mates on Tinian are the first to complete a slate: Mayor Jose P. San Nicolas, Sen. Joseph P. Mendiola and Rep. Edwin P. Aldan are all seeking reelection on the Covenant Party slate.
He said he knows someone who wants to run for mayor on Saipan but the party has yet to endorse him.
Fitial said he still has no idea who will be the Covenant Party’s candidates on Rota.
