He said the first 12 teams to sign in will be accepted to the tournament, the first round of which will be held on June 13 and 14 at the Capital Hill Softball Field.
The entrance fee for this will be $150.
Dela Cruz noted that in order for any teams to qualify for the tournament of champions—Saipan Leg, they should have met the following criteria: be first place in Round 1 or 2 or 3; have participated and played in two of the three rounds.
He added that teams who placed 2nd or 3rd in either of the three rounds, and has participated and played in two of the three rounds will qualify for the consolation round.
The second round of the tournament will be held on Aug. 1 and 2; the third round on Sept. 26 and 27; the consolation round on Oct. 3 and 4 and tournament of the champions or Saipan Leg, will be on Oct. 17 and 18.
The winner of Saipan Leg will represent the island in the 2009 Budweiser King and Queens of the Diamond Softball Tournament that will be held on Saipan on Nov. 12 to 15, where Guam, Palau and Pohnpei will also be competing for the title.
