Senate Bill 8-36, SD1 stated that “it is necessary to identify possible revenue sources that provide necessary funds for the maintenance of Palau’s highway systems, especially in light of Palau’s official acceptance of the Compact Road project in Babeldaob.”
The $20 will be only collected to non-citizens and the proposed measure stated that these funds will be deposited directly to the National Treasury for funding of road maintenance.The government collects at least over $100 for vehicle registration.
