Vern Techur Olkeriil was charged for stealing the item on April 17.
The I-Pod was at a car which was parked in front of the NEMO office when the defendant took it.The affidavit submitted in court stated that the victim saw the defendant acting suspiciously around his vehicle.The victim saw the defendant opened the car’s door and took the I-Pod.The victim chased the defendant but to no avail.However the defendant was positively identified by another witness.The affidavit stated that during an interview with the defendant, the defendant admitted that he threw the stolen item at the mangrove behind Palau Community College.
The item was not recovered.
