The five Melekeok students who received certificates of promotion to high school are Dilsiokel Polloi, Iwekei Gates, Jammal Rengiil, Noel Nakamura and Tkakl Mekreos. Ms. Iwekei Gates received the honor of delivering the valedictory address on behalf of her classmates.
Considered a success story in the field of Education and a native son of Melekeok, PCC President Dr. Patrick Tellei, was invited to give the keynote address at the ceremony. Dr. Tellei is a proud alumnus of Melekeok Elementary School who graduated there in 1974.Also in attendance at the ceremony was Chief of Research and Evaluation of the Ministry of Education Raynold Mechol and other officials of Melekeok State Government. Delegate Basilius’ office prepared and awarded certificates to three students in recognition of exceptional abilities in grammar and visual arts, as part of a special project for students who went on a Jungle River Tour last month. The certificates were awarded to Melemalt Benedict for grammar, Omis Tellei and Waydel Franz for arts.
