Traditionally, Sister Remedios gives special awards to the children during the promotion ceremony, but the school decided to give out the awards to 16 students last Tuesday in their classrooms.
These students are
• From Lourdes Leong’s class —Shane Ada, Raymalyn Guanlao, Arianna Kapileo, Kyana Reyes, Cierlyn Ricafort, Elaina Santos, Reuben Tomboc, Karl Untalan, Nelson Batallones and Lee Castro Jr.
• From Bernie Sanchez and Victoria Aguon’s class — Tessa Jo Sablan, Maaya Sato, Coloma Castro, Jenisha Dubrall, Victoria Dela Cruz, Maria Ayuyu, Sinahi Cepeda, James Salalila, Brandee Hunter, Sidney Sablan, Noah Mesa and Trenton Deleon Guerrero.
Sister Remedios principal Martha Ramarui acknowledged the key role played by the parents in their children’s education and the alumni who have brought their children and grandchildren to Sister Remedios, one of the oldest schools in Saipan.
Sister Remedios is celebrating its 57th anniversary this year.
Coloma Castro and Elaina Santos, both six years old, said their teachers have encouraged them to study hard to become better students in the future.
They thanked their parents for supporting their education and their classmates for their friendship.
The Class of 2008-2009 performed several songs during the promotion ceremony whose theme this year was “Journey Beyond the Rainbow.”
School PTA president Vince Seman said the school has been very supportive so they were able to accomplish many things.
The other promoted students were Jayce Yoshimura, Kahulo Leo Pangelinan, Zoe Kleui Mareham, Jayvian Marie Parico, Penelope Sablan, Tony Joe Taisacan, John Christopher Brillo, Jonathan Ada, Josh David Joson, Benjie Crisostomo, Chase Tenorio, Amari Glover, Anthony Macaranas, Seiji Ma’galahi Gonzales, Andre Jesse Macaranas, Kody Ryan Foreman, Releiyna Camacho, Faithlynn Tajibmai and David Randy Sablan.
