Mount Carmel School’s Theatre Club concludes its celebration of 25 years with its closing performance of the hit Broadway musical “The Sound of Music” with music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, as suggested by “The Trapp Family Singers” by Maria Augusta von Trapp, is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of The Rodgers & Hammerstein Organization. Despite having to reschedule their original performance dates, Mount Carmel School still performed two back-to-back sold-out performances at the World Resort Taga Ballroom on January 26 and 28, 2022. The production was also made possible with the support from the CNMI Department of Community and Cultural Affairs and the CNMI Council for Arts and Culture with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Captain George von Trapp, played by Manuel Pangelinan, and Maria, played by Bernice Sabino, share a heartfelt moment on stage.
