Due to the immediate loss of generation, the plant operators could not sustain the power to the other feeders therefore, were required to manually trip Feeders 4/7 and Kiya 1, 2 and 4.
The plant personnel conducted an inspection of the unit and determined that no damages occurred and the unit was reenergized.
However, as the Feeder 4/7 was being reenergized a transformer failed in the Kagman 1 area which required replacing.
The field repair was completed at 2:52 P.M and the second partial of feeder 4 energized and finalizing the restoration process.
The CUC apologizes for any inconvenience the power interruption may have imposed on the community and will continue to work diligently to minimize future interruptions.
