204 new Covid-19 cases

(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — 204 additional individuals have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 5,891 cases since March 26, 2020, CHCC reported on Saturday evening. The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.

Of the 204 new cases:

153 were identified on Feb. 4; and 51 on Feb. 3.

119 were identified via contact tracing, 84 via community testing, and one via travel testing.

Ten were identified on Tinian, and six on Rota.

As of Feb. 5, 2022, there were 10 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:

Five were unvaccinated, four were vaccinated, and one partially vaccinated.  One was discharged.

A total of 397 Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Feb. 5, 2022, resulting in 99.7% of the CNMI’s eligible population being fully vaccinated.

The vaccination statuses of the 204 new cases identified are pending verification.

A total of 1,305 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Feb. 4, 2022:

831 via community-based testing;

311 at the Covid-19 Community Center (referrals only);

138 at Tinian Health Center; and

25 at the Rota Health Center.

Of the total cases identified, as of Feb. 4, 2022, there had been 4,418 recoveries and 1,450 active cases.

2,868 were identified via  contact tracing; 2,420, community testing; and 603, travel testing.

There have been 23 Covid-19-related deaths since March 2020.

Individuals who test positive for Covid-19 should stay home and isolate when they are sick (except to get medical care), even if they do not have symptoms; rest and stay hydrated. They can take over-the-counter medicines, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen, to relieve symptoms and live Covid-19 safe.
