Andreas gets another promotion

Staff Sergeant Karmelong Andreas who is deployed in Afghanistan said that he is expecting to be Sergeant First Class in 2010.

Andreas who is currently in Palau taking his vacation in Palau said that he is up for promotion next year.Karmelong’s proud father, Sebastian said that , his son only 25 years old has “moved rank so fast.”Karmelong said he has acquired the rank which usually takes at least 14 years for others to accomplish.He said he will be promoted with him only being in the United States Army under six years.The 25-year old soldier has many awards and medals tucked under his belt.He was awarded the Army Achievement, Army Commendation, Meritorious, Cold conduct, Afghanistan, Army Service, and Global War on Terrorism medal among others.Karmelong will be returning to Afghanistan on Monday. It is his second deployment in the country since he joined the Army.Karmelong  is a 2002 graduate of Mindszenty High School, Koror, Palau, and he is the son of Sebastian Andreas and Elaine Andreas of Koror, Palau.Sebastian is at the same time encouraging other Palauans to join the military.Next month, a new set of Army recruits from Palau will be sworn in.
