Made in the Marianas Festival on Wednesday

The event aims to showcase indigenous products created with the ingenuity, imagination, and originality of CNMI artists.

Already, close to 20 different vendors have confirmed their participation in the festival.

The Made in the Marianas Festival is being organized by members of the Off the Beaten Path.

The festival will be held at the CNMI Museum grounds in Garapan from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Entry is $10, which comes with a free drink.

“We are really excited to be hosting this event,” said Reina Camacho, Off the Beaten Path public information officer. “We encourage everyone in the community to come out and support our local artists as well as our fundraising efforts for charitable organizations.”

Attendees can expect to be charmed by locally produced fashion accessories, crafts, garments, gifts, and other products found uniquely in the Marianas.

These items will be for sale and would make great souvenir gifts, especially for off-island friends and family members.

The event will also entice visitors to try the delectable local dishes and beverages and introduce the local community to the concept of buying foods and products that are made locally which in turn helps to build sustainable communities.

In addition to showcasing local artists’ work and products, the festival seeks to heighten awareness and appreciation of the CNMI Museum and its cultural and historic importance.

During the festival, visitors are welcome to view current exhibits and displays currently featured at the CNMI Museum of History and Culture.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the museum and the planning of OBP’s next event to benefit the CNMI Autism Society.

The Off the Beaten Path is a local non-profit whose members are committed to raising funds for various charitable causes.

Previous beneficiaries of the Off the Beaten Path’s fundraising activities include the CHC Volunteers, Guma Esperansa, and other charitable organizations.

Tickets for the event are being sold at the CNMI Museum.
