Youth ambassadors assist Airai State beautification project

The students from Taiwan and Palau High School students helped the state government pot hibiscus plants for the nursery.

Jack Masters, Airai State coordinator of Health and Sanitation and Beautification Program and Agriculture said that the project is part of the beautification program in the Compact Road.Masters said the project is also an effort made by other states to keep the Compact Road green.Masters said the students were helpful in the program by spending a day at the Airai State nursery on Tuesday.The summer camp event between Taiwanese and Palauan students is  the first attempt of its kind between the Taiwan government and Palau. The IYAIP program offers a variety of courses and activities, including math, science, computer skills, Chinese culture, sports, music and dance.  The activities lined up also include community services on July 14. These events are designed to encourage civism of the youngsters.The camp will allow youngsters from the two countries learn from each other, understanding better mutual tradition and culture, but also form solid bastion of friendship.  The camp will run from July 6 to July 24.
