“My decision to become a candidate for the House of Representative is completely devoid of any interest for personal gain,” said Cabrera who is running under the ruling Covenant Party.
Cabrera said although he lacks experience in law-making, he possesses other qualities that will benefit public service.
“I do not claim superiority over anyone but I certainly believe that I do possess the necessary background to be an effective legislator….,” he said.
“The need to have new faces in the legislature is timely and necessary,” he added.
As the trades assistant and acting Capital Improvement Project Coordinator, Cabrera has experience in strategic planning and tactical management leading to cost saving in governmental expenses.
Working as the leader of his department, he understands employee related issues such as employee job related injury, salary and compensation, employee productivity.
He handles worker’s compensation commission claim forms and prepares reports of government assets involve in any types of incidents.
Running under the Covenant Party, Cabrera believes in the ability of Fitial and Inos to challenge conventional wisdom when necessary and to make decisions which has no political posturing.
Cabrera who has been serving the government as part of DPW is a first time politician.
“The need to have new faces in the legislature is timely and necessary,” he said.
He stated people of Precinct I is tasked to decide whether there is a need to elect new legislators or retain the current members.
