Ruel, who manages the Spectacle Laboratory for Hardt Eye Clinic has been with the Hardt Eye Family for almost 4 years. Charged with the production of lenses, Ruel also oversees most eyeglass and sunglass repair.
Ruel is really proud of his accomplishment, he is especially grateful to Dr. Dave and Dr. Don Hardt for providing the opportunity and encouraging him to achieve this honor. I have long aspired to do something in the medical field, however because of family resources my dream was put aside. Being part of the Hardt Eye Clinic family has enabled me to realize this dream!”
“Serving our patients better through my certification brings me great joy,” shares Ruel. “We are so proud of Ruel. His work has always been excellent. Now he has national certification and recognition of his skills and knowledge,” Adds Dr. Don Hardt.
Hardt Eye Clinic is proud that Ruel now joins Eric Mahinay and Amor Zapata as the only three certified opticians in the CNMI. “Even in a down economy we must keep searching for ways to bring better service to our patients, we can do this by continually encouraging our team to have great accomplishments like Ruel has done,” Adds Dr. Dave.
According to Balboa, fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses is more than just determining whether a patient likes the look and fit of their glasses and contact lenses, certified opticians have a wealth of knowledge they can offer to their patients about lens type, UV protection, and function to fit the specific needs of their lifestyle.
The American Board of Opticianry is a national non-profit organization, and the only nationally recognized body which certifies opticians(www.abo-ncle.org).
