On July 13, Tebia passed the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses or NCLEX.
She took the examination on July 7 after her four months review for the NCLEX-RN at the University of Loyola at CNMI.
The NCLEX-RN is a national, standardized, examination for registered nurses developed and controlled by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
The examination tests current medical knowledge, nursing competencies and determines eligibility to earn an RN license and begin working as a Registered Nurse.
“I want to pursue my work here in Saipan,” Tebia said who is now planning to apply at the CHC.
Before she took her review class, Tebia worked as intern for three months at the CHC as part of her internship.
She was assigned at the medical and surgical wards, internal care unit, labor and delivery, and Obstetrics Ward.
Tebia, 25, graduated in December 2008 at the University of Loyola with a degree of Associate of Science Degree in Nursing.
Lee R. Francia, University of Loyola chief financial officer, said Tebia’s success was a “big honor to the university because it only shows that the curriculum we are offering works.”
The University of Loyola and Northern Marianas College are the only institutions in CNMI that offer Associate of Science Degree in Nursing.
Established in 2008, Francia said the University of Loyola is now looking forward to its accreditation.
There are currently 11 nursing graduates taking up NCLEX review class at the University of Loyola.
