A husband’s ordeal

Thus said by Swingly Aguon, owner of Swing’s Tours whose wife Wilminda Ochebir Soalablai Aguon died after a major operation at the hospital.

Wilminda Aguon’s case is first in Palau. She died after giving birth to a baby girl via caesarian operation.Swingly said it seemed that his wife died of complications but up to this minute, he still could not figure it out why she died when he knew that she was healthy and was not complaining of any illness before. The 40-year-old businessman said that he was also wondering why his wife did not make it when she was being attended to by five doctors at the hospital.Wilminda Aguon died on July 13 at 10:30 pm after a major operation due to a liquid found in her heart. She was due to give birth on August 18 but the doctors performed a caesarian operation on her on July 6 to save the baby because of her sudden ill condition. The baby girl was just eight months old when she was delivered via caesarian operation, Swingly Aguon said in an interview on Wednesday. The husband said his wife was diagnosed of some flu fever that’s why they have to bring her to the hospital for check up.“It was just flu then suddenly everything went crazy. I know they did something wrong to my wife. If I can only turn back the time then I would not let them touch my wife. If I knew then that something will go wrong, I would not entrust my wife’s life to them. I should have brought my wife to the Philippines for better treatment but then I trusted them, I trusted the doctors here, I thought they are experts, I thought they are capable but too late for me to realize that now that they are not,” Swingly lamented.Swingly said he suspected that his wife died because of the doctor’s incompetence and the hospital’s negligence. He said he is open to the possibility of suing the hospital if it will be proven that there was negligence on the side of the hospital.“Until now, they cannot really explain what cause my wife’s death. They just told me that they found a blood in my wife’s heart that is why they have to operate her to save her and my baby but they did not really explain why there was a blood in my wife’s heart, why her kidney fails and why everything happened so fast in just a week,” he said.Wilminda, 34 was working as Administrative Assistant at the Office of the Attorney General. She started as a high school intern at the said office. Her funeral is on August 1 in Peleliu State. Swingly Aguon said the boat for Peleliu will leave at 7:30 am on August 1.
