Carey will be traveling with Marianas Visitors Authority’s Yoichi Matsumura and Frank Tudela.
The Kaike Triathlon, according to Tudela involves three kilometer swim, 1.45 kilometer bike and 42.195 kilometer run in Yogano which will be a long bus ride from the airport.
It will be a very competitive race, Tudela said noting that the weather in the area is much colder than Saipan.
Carey was supposed to be joined by Quincy Johnson and Louie Tenorio who later pulled out due to important commitment on Saipan.
Carey finished fourth among pro women during the 2009 Xterra Saipan Championship last April.
Aside from the sweltering heat of the sun, she also had to endure the pain from the abrasions she sustained in the left side of her torso.
She arrived at the finish line clutching her bleeding left side of the body, at 3:44:56.
Carey also finished second among pro woman in the Tagaman Triathlon that was held a week later. She finished the swim in 31:56.
