The heavy down pour had just stopped pounding the ball field when the regional champions arrived. The ground was still little bit wet but the players could not wait.
It was their first practice for the World Series according to team manager, Thelma Mizer since they returned home with regional crown over a week ago.
With only one month left, Mizer said they would have to do the practice every day.
Although she is confident with the All Stars’ defensive stance as she have witnessed in the regional meet, Mizer said they still have to concentrate on fielding.
She also believes that pitching is going to be their strength but they have to focus on every aspect of defense. The CNMI All Stars, she said have to learn how to adapt quickly to the way their opponents do the offensives.
“We have to think about any opponent’s weakness,” Mizer said so that they can come up with the best game plan.
It has been years since the CNMI Juniors All Stars made it to the World Series, so the thirst for the crown will boost their motivation to win it this time.
Meanwhile, the CNMI Junior All Stars also has to get themselves busy as well raising funds for their travel.
Mizer and the coaching team are asking for the community’s support. Their practice schedule will be punctuated with coin drive and other fund raising activities.
