Samoan PM to request Togiola for a consulate office in Apia

Samoan Prime Minister Tuilaepa Lupesoli’ai Sa’ilele Malielegaoi said he is to request American Samoa Governor Togiola Tulafono for a consulate office in Samoa.

Tuilaepa said this will make it easier for the two Samoas to tackle such problems as they arise. “They should have an office here just like ours in Pago,” Tuilaepa said.

Tuilaepa said American Samoa was too quick with their decision about disallowing copies of entry permits in the territory. “They should give us 48 hours to work it out,” Tuilaepa said. “The decision was so quick.”

But he said such problems happened in any country and American Samoa’s AG, Fepulea’i Afa Ripley already made changes and settled the matter. Tuilaepa said the reason for the changes is good but American Samoa Government should give Samoa some time to work out the details.
