These funds are provided by the U.S. Department of the Interior, Office of Insular Affairs technical assistance grants program, to continue the Pohnpei survey and mapping modernization project.
The grant enables Pohnpei’s Division of Survey and Mapping to purchase two laptops and field support materials; repair and maintain survey trucks and equipment; and attend the Pacific Association of Land Professional Conference and workshop.
FSM President Manny Mori has communicated with Pohnpei Gov. John Ehsa on the acceptance of this grant.
Mori commended Ehsa on Pohnpei’s continued effort in being proactive in the assessment and modernization of the state’s mapping scheme.
