Letter to the Editor: False hopes

I must advise and notify the Federal Ombudsman’s Office that these issues have been heard and adjudicated by the CNMI Department of Labor. There is no automatic path to green cards or U.S. citizenship.

Individuals with current valid CNMI worker permits may be eligible for transitional worker status or regular worker categories under federal immigration law.

Since we are still in control of our labor and immigration system, the CNMI government has every right to deport illegal overstayers in our homeland.

All due respect to guest workers, but there is nothing RACIAL about this matter but one must accept the REALITY of national security and border control issues in our homeland.

“AMNESTY” alone is a major controversy in the United States and we the people of the commonwealth are in political union with the U.S. and this alone must be respected, and anyone who has been here legally should avail themselves of the administrative process during the federal transition for U.S. Public Law 110-229.
