Lt. Aloysius Alonz said that the suspects were arrested on July 16 for robbery, grand larceny and conspiracy.
Alonz said they were working on the Joe’s corner burglary when they came across some witness who happened to know the suspects of the robbery and purse snatching that occurred in front of Palasia hotel on July 11.Alonz said the victim Kana Harana, a tourist from Tokyo, Japan, was standing in front of the hotel on July 11 at 7 pm and was waiting for the tour bus when the suspects appeared and snatched her purse.The purse contained yen, digital camera, cell phone and dictionary.The victim was dragged when she resisted and tried to hold on with her purse.The victim lost over $1,000 of belongings to the snatchers.Alonz said they recovered the stolen belongings except for the yen.He said the items will be turned over to the Japan Embassy because the victim is already back in Japan.
