NEMO stated in their public announcement issued on Monday that although weather conditions have improved, there is still possibility that water conditions may change and therefore the Small craft advisory has been raised throughout Palau.
NEMO said travel to Angaur State and or outside the reefs may resume as normal but all sea bound boaters must take precautionary measures and observe all marine safety regulations.NEMO also advise the public not to proceed travelling by boat if water conditions are too rough.The Bureau of Public Safety in a separate public announcement also stated that as a result of heavy rains last week, a large section of the East (Kiukl) Compact Road before the Koksai Road Entry and after the bridge adjacent to the Jungle River Tour has completely broken off and has fallen down into Ra Vin below.BPS said all access to Ngchesar and Melekeok has been cut off and travelers travelling on the East (kiukl) Compact Road to Ngchesar, Capitol and States are advised to use the West (Despedall) Compact Road and Koksai Access Road.The public is advised to exercise caution when driving on the road.
