Zoning Board to hold Susupe public consultation

“We wish to reach out to everybody,” said Zoning Board Chairman Henry S. Hofschneider in an interview with the Variety.

Hofschneider also announced that the Zoning Board is scheduled to present its “Beach Road Corridor Improvement Plan” during the 6 p.m. public consultation at the multi-purpose center in Susupe tomorrow.

“Everybody is encouraged to attend. Comments may be submitted orally or in writing at the meeting,” Hofschneider said.

Zoning Board Administrator Victor Barrett earlier presented the proposed $1.6 million plan to the Rotary Club.

The plan aims to promote Saipan as a more livable and investor-friendly community, and will involve the development of a 6.5-mile highway from American Memorial Park in Garapan toward the Pacific Islands Club in San Antonio.

To fund the project, the Zoning Board is accessing an energy efficiency and conservation block grant from the federal government.

Written comments about the proposed plan may also be submitted in writing to the Zoning Office no later than 4:30 in the afternoon, Aug. 26, or via e-mail, [email protected]. You can also mail your comments to  the Zoning Board, Caller Box 10007, Saipan MP 96950.
