Among the dead were two women and a baby. The death of a pregnant woman was reported earlier this month, but has not been confirmed by authorities.
Most of the Polynesian islands have reported cases of swine flu. The worst hit being Rapa, with a population of 600, the most southerly island in the French overseas territory at 1,300 kilometers from Tahiti.
Paris has sent medical reinforcements to the territory to help fight the pandemic.
