Ngarchelong road rehabilitation projects commences

According to state officials, the projects are funded by Taiwan stimulus funds and bids for the projects have been awarded to local contractors.

State officials said FR Construction has been awarded the bid to rehabilitate a section of the road in Ollei village that runs from the Ollei water pump to Ollei Port.  In addition, bids for the water reservoir and a section of the road that runs from Mengellakl village to Ngriil Village were awarded to Rainbow Construction.State officials said that they are very grateful for the funding from Taiwan and for President Johnson Toribiong’s insistence that Palau has to pave its ways to revive the economy.“This is the beginning of better things to come,” said a resident.  “When the roads are improved, so will our livelihood.”Many of the state citizens and residents witnessed the commencement of all three projects.  The projects are estimated to cost more than $800,000.Many dignitaries from the national government and respective embassies attended the groundbreaking ceremonies.
