Toribiong said Philippine Ambassador to Palau Ramoncito Marino said that Arroyo sent an acceptance letter confirming the visit.
Toribiong said that the schedule is still tentative but the visit may occur between September and October.Toribiong would have wanted a state visit to the Philippines this year but because of reciprocity, it should be Arroyo’s turn to come to Palau.In April 2008, former President Tommy Remengsau Jr. made a state visit to the Philippines.Marino said in Arroyo’s visit both countries would explore possible cooperation in the areas of aquaculture, agriculture and fisheries.Arroyo will end her term in year 2010. Filipinos comprise the second largest ethnic group in the island nation. It is the largest foreign workforce in Palau.There are about 5,000 Filipino workers here.
