“I hope more students will get involved,” she said.
The student group will elect a president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.
Rodriguez said although the registration was announced a month ago, only one student has so far registed.
Last year, the turnout was also low, she added.
She believes that most students are not aware of the organization’s existence.
Rodriguez is now coordinating with the Office of Student Activities and Leadership in planning for student activities for the fall semester which starts today.
“[We] encourage students to participate in NMC activities like the ASNMC election,” she said.
They plan to make more students aware of the group and its activities.
Rodriguez has drafted a new ASNMC constitution and a calendar of activities for the fall semester.
The constitution is still subject for approval of the upcoming officers whose term will begin on Sept. 21.
