A winning start for Tinian, Hyatt

Borja fired two consecutive two-pointers and two free throws in the final few minutes of the first quarter but PSS’s Melvin Manibusan tied the game.

Tony Borja and Julian Santos helped Nazario Borja widen the gap in the second quarter where Pascua also begun his three-point spree.

Derrick Aughenbaugh and Cisco Cruz put up a reinforced defense in the third quarter while Maverick Itibus and Gyles Ruluked added four points each for PSS in an attempt to get even again. PSS, though, managed to cut the lead to eight points.

This however, just heated up Pascua’s hands as he fired five consecutive three point shots. Tony Borja also blasted from the three-point territory.

Pascua and Nazario Borja did not look back as they went on pounding PSS with two-figure lead again. Tony Borja hit two three-pointers again as he helped hand Tinian its 78-65 victory.

Hyatt 77, CPA 68  

Bernard Aquino and Armando Magno paced Hyatt Regency with two-pointers and pounded Commonwealth Ports Authority in the first quarter leading to 77-68 win.

Jorge De Guzman and Gino Libuw took turns in scoring to maintain the lead and Mike Umali seven points during the third quarter.

Jeff Cloud scattered seven points and KC Yangilmao added six to help CPA chase Hyatt but De Guzman with some helps from Chris Arreza and Libuw gave them a hard time and set the final lead to nine.

Docomo 99, ARFF 52

Kae Bernardo who took his time in the bench during the first quarter dominated the court in the next three quarters of the game and handed Docomo its second win against Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting, 99-52.

Bernardo fired two consecutive shots in the third quarter and James Villacrusis added eight in the quarter to nail ARFF to 52 points.

Villacrusis stormed ahead basketing a three-pointer in the fourth quarter as he backed Bernardo up in pounding ARFF.

Syl Teregeyo and Kelvin Fitial established a strong defense and set a rallying start for Docomo in the first quarter.

Teregeyo and Fitial both fired 18 markers.
