He said the Saipan mayor’s office is tasked to address the issue, but it lacks funds.
According to Reyes, the Legislature should “be able help find means to avail federal funding for the [animal shelter] project through introducing a bill that will modify the policies in availing [federal stimulus] funds.”
The governor’s office, he said, is grateful for the help provided by private organizations like PAWS that are temporarily managing stray animals.
